Another AMAZINGly perfect day at the beach with good friends. It was so beautiful and perfect!

I loved this pic. I wish you could see all the seagulls trying to get close to steal those goldfish crackers all over Mika's belly. If I would have zoomed out more you could've seen the 20 birds Maddy was shooing away being the "Mika Protector" and keeping them away from the Mika bird bait trap.

We got to shoot our little friend Brynlee's 3 Year pics down in San Juan Capistrano today. It was such a beautiful day! After the shoot, we played on the playground, swung, ate at Pedro's tacos yummmm! And then went to feed the fish at the San Juan Mission. It was such a perfect little morning! Mika was a little angel! I didn't even know who she was! She was such a little sweetie and sat in her stroller for a whole hour while I took pics of Brynlee. I loved playing with my girls so much today!

Later on Maddy was having a little sad moment, and she said the only thing that would make her happy was to make Baby Cakes. My mom give me this cool little baby cake maker that takes literally 3 minutes to make these perfect little cupcakes! We wipped some up and Maddy was all smiles the rest of the night! Maddy loves to help in the kitchen and now Mika has been joining in! Mika mostly just spooned heaps of cake batter in her mouth while Maddy and I spooned cake batter into the Baby Cakes cooker thingee. We had fun! Such a good day!

Tuesday Happenings..

I love mornings with my girls. Most mornings I get to wake up to one or ALOT of Maddy's new "projects" she makes for me before I wake up. This morning she made me a gold metallic necklace out of the Gold Playdoh Grandma Nuttall gave her for xmas. *Disclaimer...don't judge my photography! These are all shot with my crappy phone camera! (: ha!

Then off to school! I just thought Maddy was so cute this morning! She rarely wears shorts since she always has to wear tights and skirts, but I just love her little legs and she was so happy and cute out the door we had to snap some quick pics!

Then cute little Mika stole Maddy's lunchbox like she steals everything else from Maddy, but surprisingly no yelling or tears! Just happy smiles for pictures! Love this shot!

It is so hard for Mika to go with my to take Maddy to school. She really just wants to do everything that her sissy does, and I have to pull her away crying EVERY single time! It's so hard! She loves Maddy very much, though who knows when she will ever start sharing with her! Love my girls!

Maddy Loving Disney Junior Live! Her favorite show of all! We can't miss collecting all the gold deblumes from the Jake and the Neverland Pirates treasure chest. She captures them and brings them home to glue to her "projects." Love her face! Can't wait to get my new camera back from the repair shop so I can actually take some good pics! Yes, my NEW camera is in the shop getting fixed. 1 week old camera and little Mika decides to throw a handful of sand straight at my face and the camera while I was taking her pic at the beach. And it broke... !

Hopefully I'll get it back this week and go crazy taking pics of our little daily adventures!

While Maddy was away at preschool Mika wanted to put on all her princess gear Santa brought her. As a professional photographer it's so hard for me to post pics that aren't retouched and perfect! But I thought I should just post Mika as she is in all her cuteness, dirty face and all. These are straight from the camera! I love getting one on one time with my girls! Mika was loving all the mommy attention! Love her!

My attempt at 1 photo a day is so hard! How do you pick just 1 photo? I'm going to work on it! ha!

Little Mommies

Our morning... filled with clothes clothes and baby dolls. I loved this morning...

Notice Mika in her babies high chair instead of her baby doll. She actually does not like to share the high chair with even her baby doll. If you try to put her baby in the high chair she gets so jealous it's hilarious. Mika watches TV in the high chair even or just sits in it to make sure nothing or no one else will. I'm glad she likes it so much! haha.

Maddy on the other hand is such a sweet little mommy. Btw, Maddy named both baby dolls. Mika's bitty baby's name is "Cherry" and Maddy's baby's name is "Madeline." Maddy helps get both babies dressed for bed most nights and gets them dressed for the day and even cooks them breakfast. It's so cute!

My New attempt at Blogging...

With my photography blog and work to keep up with it seems I have neglected my little blog. So I'm going to attempt this year to do a photo of a day blog post everyday! Yes, it seems alot for someone who hasn't blogged for half the year... but here goes!

Maddy is obsessed with Stickers and has been for a very long time. She also refuses to take naps with pants on. She loves creating things and works great doing her sticker "projects", glueing things to paper for hours, or playing with play-doh! Today she also made "baby cakes and baby snakes" with play-doh for 2 hours! I was loving some free time! Anyways, this was one of her first "projects" after her nap I guess! So we had to take this sweet pic to capture her in all her cuteness! I LOVE this sweet little photo of her. And I just noticed how super skinny her legs are! She is a skinny little girl, but this really shows her teeny tiny legs!

We also did a little photo-shoot for my friend Katie's MiaMoo necklaces and accessories today. So today I will have to of course post more than 1 pic! There are so many cute pics to choose from! Here are just a few. I'm sure they will go up for sale on the MiaMoo site soon, but in the meantime, here is a sneak peak of what is to come from MiaMoo very soon!

Mika looked so sweet in these photos. I think I should dress her in soft pinks more often! You would never know what a fiesty little girl she really is through these images! haha. I seriously love both of my girls so much. I think every single day how I never want them to grow up and how I am the luckiest mom in the world. Grateful.

Just a little update... Mika is getting so big! She'll be 1 in less than a month which I'm really sad about! She looks like a little girl to me already! She's still the happiest little girl I've ever met and is constantly smiling all day at everything and everyone! And she still has that big hair that I try to tame everyday, but still have people constantly asking me why I don't do her hair.... ahhhh.. I try people! haha.

Maddy and Mika are starting to play more and more with each other. Here they are going shopping for toys at the grocery store with their little purses in hand. So fun to hear them giggle with each other! Maddy can do no wrong to Mika who things her big sister Maddy is the funniest person in the whole world. She even laughs at her when she is crying. Pretty funny.

And the dress I finally made, well this is the tester dress for the girls easter dresses. I think I have it down now and know where I need to tweak it to make it what I want(longer shoulder ties, longer dress, smaller ruffle, etc) . Love the flower though! Pretty much the whole reason I wanted to make this dress!

And! My wonderful Grandma gave me a surger so it took half the time! No folding and ironing seams here! Except the hem. Super easy. This is my kind of dress to make. It's almost impossible for me to try to make anything that would take longer than this with kids...

Maddy is so lucky to have such a close relationship with her Grandma Nguyen. I'm so glad she is getting the opportunity to learn Vietnamese and learn some of the Vietnamese culture. I especially love these cute AoDai dresses! They are just beautiful! When I got married to Tony I got to where one as well as all of the girls in my family. The colors are so beautiful! I love that I got to experience a traditional wedding ceremony.

Poor Mika is still sick with a double ear infection and 2 teeth coming in, so she didnt' get a dress this year and has to stay home, but Maddy was so excited that she was going to get to see dragon dancing tonight and wear such a beautiful dress! Thank you Grandma and Grandpa Nguyen!

We went on a Sandy Toes and Popsicles Field Trip today and ended up here...

Big Girl Bed!

So we've been working on this for awhile now... Getting Maddy in her big girl bed so we can give her crib to Mika. Well, Mikas now 6months and has still been sleeping right next to me in her pack n play which barely fits between my bed and the window in our room. It's really time for her to join her sister...

We've had this cute bed for awhile. My mom got Maddy the cutest bedding, and Maddy LOVED it! But wouldn't sleep in it!

Here is Maddy's rendition of the 5 little monkeys jumping on the bed...

She loves to jump off and bonk her head. Yea... I know...

Anyways, we finally got Maddy to sleep in her "Big Girl Bed" at night time, but we would catch her in the middle of the night with her lights on, Pjs off, trying on her clothes. After nights of her fashion escapades, she was no longer sweet, happy little Maddy, but grumpy tired Maddy.

We finally got her to stay in bed at night.. ( I think!), but she still surprises us most mornings with her own choice of outfit for the day. She always says "I'm ready!"

Here are just a few samples of her outfits of choice...

Long story short... Last night Mika finally slept in the crib! WOo hoo! Maddy slept all night and didn't even wake up when I went in to get Mika in the morning to give her her bottle, which she ate and went right back to sleep... until 8:45 when they both finally woke up!

Hope this lasts!!!

Minnie Cooper

So our little Minnie Cooper has been missing for 2 nights now. Her collar was returned to us after being found in the street, but no Minnie in sight. She may be gone for good, but I thought we would at least put out fliers to see if anyone has any info on her. I told Maddy we were going to put up fliers to help find Minnie and we have the cutest converstion...

"Mommy are you sad?" -Maddy

"No, I just miss our Minnie cat." -Me

"Do you need a kiss?" -Maddy

"Yes!" (kisses) -Me

"YAY! I made Mommy happy! Mommy's Happy!" -Maddy

"We still have Mungo mommy." -Maddy

How cute that at only 2 Maddy can already rationalize that at least we still have Mungo (her bff white kitty)...

Mungo actually came with us on our walk today to tape up fliers. He follows Maddy everywhere. So cute! Hopefully his sister Minnie will show up soon!

Who stole the tomato from the fruit bowl?
This little girl cannot get enough of tomatoes! It's good I guess... except when you find a bite out of every tomato in the bowl, or when your neighbors complain of bites out of every tomato on their tomato vines, or when she's running through the house with this...

Yea, that's always fun!

Last night while playing with Mika's hair I realized that I could pinch together little pony tails with my fingers! I was so excited that I dreamt about putting actual pony-tails in her hair! It was like Christmas morning when I woke up and was able to tame her big lioness hair into these cute little peeps! Isn't she adorable? I couldn't quite tame the back as you can see, but my little girls are all about big pokey hair! Now we just need some bows or mini hair flowers and we are set!

How many 4 month olds can have peeps? Seriously cute!

What do you do on a hot summer day? Put your suits on and paint with pudding! Maddy and her BFF Brynlee loved it, what could be better than being able to be as messy as you want to without getting in trouble!

Brynlee discovered that it was better to slurp up the pudding than to paint with it early on...

We love our daddy! He is the best ever! He works so hard for our family, and comes home always so excited to see us! He wakes up early to make us breakfast (or buy us yummy bagels) every Saturday morning, and loves his daddy daughter time. He is very loved and we couldn't ask for a better daddy! A few words to describe Tony... hilarious, kind, intelligent, hard-working, loving, caring, sweet, super handsome, silly, clean, friendly, and the list goes on and on...

Maddy was so excited to give Tony all his fathers day gifts, she helped write the card by drawing pics of all the people in our family, and a monkey for some reason.. (=

(Notice the Windex in the background... Windex is pretty much Tony's mascot. He loves Windex and is seldom not having a bottle of it in his hand. I'm so glad it's in this pic cause it reminds us of Tony! (= )

We also made Tony this great tie that he proudly wore to church! Isn't it great!

My Little Monkey

Here is our little Mika in her jungle gym...

Tony thinks she is a "Genius!" I think she's pretty smart too. Here she is only 2 mos old concentrating on using her hands to spin the toy on her play gym... We swear she already tries to communicate with us too. She looks right in your eye and coos over and over like she is having a conversation with you.

We went for her (a little over) 2 month check up today and Mika was 11 lbs 3 oz, and 23 inches tall. 50% around the board. We love her little buddha belly and her leg rolls. Tony has always wanted a chubby baby and is super jealous whenever he sees a baby with squishy legs... Mika could be the chubby little baby he has always hoped for!

Also at the docs office today... We were waiting in our little room for the doc, door open, when Mika who was sitting on my lap let out a huge man sounding and smelling "toot." Sweet little Maddy yelled out loud enough for all to hear "Mommy tooted! (laugh laugh laugh)" right as the doctor was coming into our now stinky room... I swear it wasn't me! Thanks alot Maddy! (=

So my photography blog may be filled with only pics of my sweet daughters Maddy and Mika for awhile since I am taking a short maternity leave from my photography business to focus on my family for a couple months. I still need my photography fix and whether they like it or not, my little girls get to be my models! We haven't ventured too much outdoors since Mika is still small, so I set up studio on my bed, couch, or wherever the natural light hits and take pics whenever I get the urge and my little girls will let me!

Here is my baby girl Mika modeling her cute little hair flower and outfit given to her by my good friend Katie of Mia Moo Designs... Check out her blog to purchase cute hair accessories, dresses and more... This little girl laughs in her sleep! We will hear these funny little giggles and look down at her and she is actually laughing! (Probably thinking of all the funny things she can do to make sure mommy doesn't sleep at night (= )! She smiles a ton too...

My friend Ashlee and I collaborated and pulled out the infamous tree branch structure to get this pic of Mika. Maddy LOVES her baby sister Mika, and has been such a sweetie and such a great helper! She was only jealous for a second, and now she is so cute with her sister. She says "Love you Mika", "where baby Mika?", "Soooo cute!", "ewwwwww" (when the baby has a dirty diaper), (= and lots of other cute phrases about her sister all day. She loves getting diapers and wipees, and throwing away the dirty diapers for me. I'm so lucky to have 2 sweet little girls...

We had a very eventful weekend! We celebrated Valentine's Day at Javier's (my fav!), Chinese New Year with family and a Nascar race with great neighbors! Pictures of Maddy in her traditional Vietnamese dress to come... Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

BTW - 3 weeks to go! We are being induced to have our new little girl on March 10th, if she doesn't decide to come a little earlier (which I wouldn't be surprised!) !

Cafe Rio is finally here! Opening day is Dec 28th! I don't know if it's being pregnant or what, but I've been craving this since the day I heard it was coming to town (like a year ago!) I hope it's still as good as I've been remembering from my Utah days...and dreaming of!

I think for sure the next Cafe Rio should be in Huntington Beach! I'd go every day!

We are so excited to have a real Christmas tree this year and to be in our own home! Last year we were moving around, and it is so nice to have a home to decorate and put up a tree in! Maddy had so much fun at the Christmas tree lot running around through all the baby trees...

She was so excited to have one of her favorite people ever Noah to come play with her and help pic out trees! Maddy loves hugs!

Luckily we found a great tree! There wasn't many this year on the lot. Our poor neighbors went home empty handed... guess they were just not as quick as Tony...

We went to Tanaka Farms a couple weeks ago with our neighbors...

Maddy loved trying to pick up all the pumpkins! She loves climbing too... She was in heaven with all the pumpkins and hay to climb on...Happy Birthday Jonas... Maddy loved the bounce house at Jonas' big birthday bash...

Facepainting... She wasn't so sure about, but looked sooo cute!Maddy had no fear when the Creature Teacher came and was trying to hug and squeeze all the lizards, sat on the turtle...
Wanted to take home the giant snake...

Trunk Or Treat with our friends the Child Family...Maddy's practice run for getting all the candy on Halloween. She pulled out sucker after sucker wanting us to unwrap it so she can get one taste and move on to the next one...

Today we went to another pumpkin patch with Maddy's friend Brynlee... They loved the little rides...

This was Maddy's favorite, she couldn't wipe the grin off her face the whole time!And of course Maddy had to hug all the pumpkins in her own cute little way of hugging... putting her head on them...Can't wait to see what fun Halloween day will bring! Happy October!

Maddy Loves Mickey!

Everyday while eating breakfast, Maddy gets to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. She LOVES it! Sometimes I think I need to cut her off though. Now if I accidentally step in front of her high chair, she is trying so hard to look around me and doesn't even notice if I am talking to her! I might be creating a tv addict, but it is sooo cute when we go to Disneyland and she recognizes Mickey Mouse! She loves him so much!

This time, after her portrait with Mickey, I couldn't tear her away from him! And when I finally pulled her away, she escaped again and yelled "Dadda!" so loud while running back to Mickey! Mickey was blushing. It was hilarious! Tony doesn't think it's that funny though. haha.

Maddy has the best Daddy ever! Tony is an amazing father! We are so blessed to have him in our lives! So to show our appreciation, Maddy and I made him a special tie to wear to church on Father's Day. He wore it proudly! What a good Daddy!

We were so excited to celebrate the 4th for the first time in our new home in Huntington Beach. The day was amazing, so many wonderful memories! I couldn't have thought up a more perfect day!

My Grandma and I were able to make Maddy this super cute dress to celebrate the 4th in! She was soo cute all day!

We started of with our neighborhood biker gang heading off to the parade on Main Street...

Then watched the parade... We love our new neighbors!

Amy and Rob were able to meet up with us for the parade! We were so excited to have them join us!

Then it was the celebration dinner with the family! Tons of food, fun, and games...
Then daddy lit off some of our own fireworks...

Blake loves Kylie...

And we hopped back on our bikes to catch the fireworks show on the pier...

We got their just in time with our gang, and it was so amazing! The show was 30 minutes long, with music and everything. The finale was spectacular. It was such a perfect way to end our day!

Happy 4th of July Everyone! We are so blessed to everyone who sacrificed so much so we can live in peace in our beautiful country!

Just a couple pics I shot of Maddy in front of our house the other day... She loves being outside, picking flowers, and playing in and eating dirt. These pics were before she invaded the garden. She is growing up so fast! It's crazy how one day she is my little baby and the next she is a little girl!

Maddy is finally getting more confident and trying to walk more on her own...

But she is still happiest crawling around getting her knees all scraped up and dirty!

Whether he likes it or not...

Mungo is the new neighborhood cat here on our street. He loves everyone and wants to visit them all in their homes and eat their other cats food. He is also fearless! He is not afraid of 50 lb Fuzzy the cat that lives across the street! He waltzes right pass the huge hissing cat into Fuzzy's home and eats all of his food! He is also not afraid of cars...this could not be good! We have to tell cars to stop for him while he casually crosses the street in front of them! Good thing he is white. But if anyone knows Mungo, you just can't keep him locked up indoors... we don't know what to do with our cuddly, loving, friendly, computer cord and clothes eating Mungo....

Bunny Merry-Go-Round

At South Coast Plaza right now they replaced all the horses on the merry-go-round with bunnies! Maddy was so excited because she now knows all about bunnies after Easter. When we were walking towards the merry-go-round and she saw the bunnies she sat right up in her stroller and screamed! She was sooo excited! I had to take her on it. It was only $1 so we went on twice! I love seeing Maddy so happy. She was so cute!

Here's a little video clip. She loves music! When she hears any kind of music she starts dancing or clapping.

Maddy's First Haircut...

So I had been waiting to make a special day out of Maddy's first haircut. I invited Maddy's great Grandma and Grandpa Olive, my mom, and my sister Amy was able to come help out too. I scheduled Maddy at First Cuts at Fashion Island, it was a little expensive, but I thought it would be fun to go get lunch, and see the pet store before hand. Here is my mom and Maddy at Fashion Island...

It was time to go to our appt, we walked over to where First Cuts used to be, and it was gone!The lady on the phone told me it was still there when I scheduled the appt that morning! This was the start of a very bad day...

I had locked my keys in the car before and was just going to call AAA after the haircut so my grandparents didn't have to wait. Now I needed to get in my car to go to Corona Del Mar where the haircut place was really located. It took AAA 40 minutes to get to my car, while G&G where waiting...

When AAA guy finally arrived and broke into my car, my alarm went off and I didn't have the transponder to turn it off! The AAA guy was like, "sorry. See ya!". Yes, I had to drive with my car alarm going off. It finally stopped en route, we pulled up to the haircut place, turned off the car, and there it went again! It was so loud! Super embarrassing, and I just left my car there with the alarm screaming at everyone. It is now Maddy's nap time, but we are going to get a haircut. I have my camera and everyone is ready. We sit Maddy down in the cute little airplane, and the meltdown begins...

I end up having to hold her while she gets her hair done my the lady who had told us First Cuts was at Fashion Island earlier that morning. Maddy was not happy..Most of her first haircut pics look like this...

Here I am trying to tell Maddy how cute she looks with the wierd little flowers the lady stuck in her hair...A little happier...
Then the scary lady wants to take her picture...

The haircut lady takes her picture for Maddy's memory book, and her printer prints out the portrait of Maddy, except her face is bright green. The printer ran out of toner. She said this has never happened in 2 years. "Sorry, that will be $25." She says.

Good thing I had my camera to capture these great memories! (=

Finally Maddy was happy when she realized how good her first sucker was! There was no taking this away from her. The carseat was a sticky mess. But at least she was happy again and we got the first hair cut experience out of the way. Fewwwww! That was a long day!

A couple days later I got these cute shots of Maddy. Happy again and showing off her new haircut! Sooo cute!No more $25 hair cuts for you!

Maddy's New Car..

I've been so excited to shoot Maddy in this car. Tony gave me this for my birthday, and I've been just waiting to shoot with it. I had the urge to just go outside and shoot this really fast, and this is what I got in my 3 minutes of Maddy's attention span. It's been awhile since we have been able to catch up. We are finally settling down in our new home. It is half the size of our other house, so we found we have alot of "junk" to get rid of. It's a bad sign when you are all moved into your house and your garage is still packed to the cieling with no access. I don't look foward to cleaning that out, but at least if I do, someday I can hope to build my studio back in the garage.

One of my favorite things in our new house is our kitchen sink... No more baby bathtubs which we don't have room for anyways, I love it... Check out how long Maddy's hair is getting!

Flying Away on Valentine's Day...

Twas the Night Before Christmas...

Twas the Night Before Christmas and Maddy would not go to sleep...

She was up till 12:30, giggling and showing her tired mommy and daddy how she now could clap her hands, while jumping super fast in her jumper at the same time.

Mommy and daddy didn't know that the teething tablets they were giving her that were "supposed" to make Maddy sleepy, were in fact making her WIDE awake...
Happily by the morning, Santa has granted Maddy's wish, and she woke up with her 2 front teeth! Finally!!!
